When the National Golf Tournament Directors Association was founded in
1996, Gail Barron was one of the first to join and attend NGTDA’s
professional training program to teach golf tournament directors how to
run a successful event.
In addition to the on-site logistics of the tournament itself, a
successful golf event requires selecting the appropriate course for a
company or organization’s participants. Factors such as course
difficulty, length and reputation as well as tournament format, figure
into the enjoyment. Additionally, equally important to the equation are
sponsor solicitation and compliance, golf pairings, contest holes, prize
and amenity selection and food and beverage options.
With a principal who herself golfs and understands the game’s etiquette,
Meetings Management Network creates an above par event that participants
will reference for years to come.
